With the e-readers, my students can take advantage of the benefits of text-to-speech. This means my students can hear and see the text at the same time, which can reinforce the skills of struggling readers! I also love the fact that I can project the text onto my whiteboard, which will enable the whole class to read, with my students having the ability to tune in the same text at the same time. The Kindle e-reader will give my students the ability to make the text larger, which can be helpful for students with vision impairments. Also, the e-reader will encourage dictionary use, giving students the ability to look up words they do not understand. If my students are reading difficult texts, this can be an educational benefit.
