For the last 2 years I have worked with my students on their music literacy. However, we have had little access to standard sheet music and nowhere to put it if we did. The music stands will give my students a sense of belonging in a "real" band while simultaneously fulfilling their practical purpose of holding the music. Music literacy is a tool that will set my students on the path to being life long musicians. The music books I selected meet my students at their skill level in music literacy and instrument competency. I also chose books that will engage them with exciting music that they know and will enjoy playing.
