My students have chromebooks so that we can be paperless, but AP chemistry problems are not very conducive to problem solving using a keyboard. They still need to have paper and pencil so solve the long, mathematically difficult problems. The graphics tablets will allow them to annotate on their computers and solve the problem in their notes. I also have the ability to cast their screens to my board, and these would be great for students to collaborate together and have the ability to show the class how they solved a particular problem by displaying their work. Funding this project will help improve my student's achievement in solving complex chemistry problems, allow them to collaborate together and share their work with the class. Problem solving is done every single day in the my AP classroom and using a graphics tablet will keep the students much more focused and engaged when I can see what they're working on electronically. The tablets will allow us to fully integrate the technology that we already have in a much more user friendly way.
