I am a 6th grade teacher in one tough neighborhood! Although our school is located in an area notorious for high rates of poverty and crime, my students love learning and are always looking for ways to improve their reading! One of my goals is to ensure that my students develop a love of reading that will last a lifetime. However, my school only provides us with textbooks in which students read short excerpts from stories and never get to read "real" books!
