As part of our Forest First program, our class spends around 2 hours every day in the forest. We extend our reading and writing skills by going outdoors. We are able to use nature to inspire our learning and creativity. Students also have the opportunity to create, build, and invent with the environment around us. Spending time in the forest has been greatly beneficial for my students, but we are pretty far away from the school. I'm uncomfortable sending my students to the restroom even with another responsible student, so I'm requesting a compostable toilet for our outdoor classroom area. We plan to build a full outhouse style building around it with the moon and all!
