Our second graders wanted to explore creating a vegetable garden as part of our plants unit and the launch of Genius Hour! They have been researching and preparing (and we already have their tomato, pepper, and cucumber seeds sprouting!) We are asking for raised beds, soil, tomato cages, animal barriers, and some watering cans to get started. The kids already have plans for preparing, planting, building, and taking care of the veggies. They hope to turn the garden into a large community garden, and share with the neighborhood! In the future, we would like to expand to a flower garden as well! They are looking forward to getting their hands dirty and being responsible for this space!
