Do you remember when your third-grade teacher taught you about fractions? Multiplying? Adding? Dividing? They can be very hard concepts to learn. However, when given manipulatives, it can make a world of a difference! Math manipulatives bring math to life and give my students real-world context that they may not be able to otherwise understand, especially because of language barriers. For example, understanding the fraction 2/2 is equivalent to 3/3 probably doesn't make much sense to kids at first. But, if they had fraction strips in their hands, they would be able to build each fraction themself and see they are the same. I will be using the cricut to create these math manipulatives. These are the kind of materials I would be creating and distributing to kids.
