Our music programs invest a lot of money in music instruments that we own or lease. The ability to take care of them especially during the summer months in Florida is really important. A dehumidifier is evident as a great solution. Moisture damages instrument by breaking down the strings or warping the wood. We can have small parts that begin sticking which then costs hundreds and thousands of dollars for repairs. This past year the band volunteer group (Greenwave Band Boosters Inc.) spent $8000 in instrument repairs. This would help reduce that cost. The table can be shared between both vocal and band/dance/guard departments because we are next door to each other. Many of our tables have missing edges or have a dip in them making them not ideal to use for both safety and cosmetics.
