My school is a small K12 building in rural Wisconsin. We are not a 1 to1 school, and our access to technology in classrooms is limited to 3 carts of Chromebooks for the whole building. As an English Language Arts teacher, educating students from grade 8 all the way up to 12 on how to write well, it is a constant challenge trying to negotiate when I can get access to the essential technology required to make writing and vocabulary programs available to my students. Essay writing assignments in class have to be limited to a couple of days with a Chromebook cart to give other classes access to the tech, and I know that my students would benefit from a more relaxed environment with them. If we can grab a Chromebook, pull up an essay, and work on it at any given time, without requiring students to wander around the building looking for an extra computer, that would be ideal.
