My kids love to have a variety of seating options in the classroom. No one wants to sit at a desk all day long. By providing the students with different options they are more likely to stay engaged and work hard throughout the day. These items will make our leaning space a great place to come to every day. The kids will utilize these objects for reading, writing, math, and pretty much all parts of the day. The large rug will be used as a meeting area for our morning meeting time as well as our mini lessons. The futon will give students a comfy place to read and write. Finally the ottoman will be used as a special spot to sit and read. Making my classroom feel like home is key to having a successful year with my students. I can't wait to see them spread out and enjoy the new spots!
