By having alternative seating in the classroom students are free to make a choice of which seating arrangement is best for their learning. By giving them a choice I am helping them begin to learn how to make appropriate choices to make them more successful in the classroom. This also helps reduce the amount of behavior problems that can happen in the classroom. By having alternative seating students have their own space to spread out and have room to work. Students can choose to sit on the sofa and use a lap desk, or they might prefer to pile up in a bean bag chair. The coffee table will be a great place to collaborate with those sitting on the sofa. Having alternative seating also helps with engagement. By having higher engagement students will be more successful. By donating you will help the learning environment of our classroom by giving my students more choice. By giving the more choice it will help empower them to make better choices and become more successful in the classroom. Having choices helps them become 21 Century learners.
