Flexible seating and removing cell phone distractions allow students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that help them be successful in my class. During independent reading or collaborative work times, they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are choosing to work in a variety of locations in our room such as: on the floor around their friends, sitting against the walls with clip boards, or lying on the floor. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. The floor gets uncomfortable, so I am requesting the LuxFit Exercise Ball Chairs so they can move about the room, while maintaining comfort. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating and the cell phone distraction is removed (hence the ZKOO Classroom Numbered Pocket Organizer and HOLSEM Power Strip Surge Protectors). Students almost always make good choices, are more engaged, and get more work completed than otherwise. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement. The products that I have selected will help my students make more effective learning choices, which also requires letting go of their cell phones. The LuxFit Exercise Ball Chairs have been shown to help students be less fidgety, to improve posture, and to help students feel more alert and productive. They are on wheels that hold up to 300lbs and can be easily used in many areas of my high school classroom. The charging stations will help the students relinquish their phones for the duration of English class, ultimately teaching them to be more successful overall in their social and academic development.
