My students need materials that will help them feel more successful in literacy. They need hands-on materials like the unifix cubes to practice building and creating words. My students need books at their level to help them feel more successful when reading books. Currently, our classroom library has books that my students can read with a lot of teacher support, but not ones that they can read independently. While my students work very hard when working and reading with teacher, they enjoy reading alone as well. The books that we have, however, don't make them feel successful. They need books that they can read alone and feel good about reading.
