Center time activities are an essential time for the social and academic development of the kindergarten child. It is during this time that the students work together and develop positive social skills. At the building block table the students will be engaged in activities that will help them understand academic concepts. For example, when my students are using the magnetic blocks, Tinker Toys, and Lincoln Logs they are being introduced to simple shapes and geometric concepts. When my students are putting together puzzles, they are developing their visual spatial skills and they are learning to work together with their classmates.
