The use of technology in the classroom is essential in the world. Students need exposure to technology in order to become proficient because these are skills that they will use forever. I want to start my students early with the ability to use and create on tablets which is a familiar form of technology for many. I am requesting an ipad mini so that students can interact with lessons during small group using various applications. Tablets are a great way to engage students in the classroom! I will use these to practice identifying letters, sounds, words and begin to read. Students will also play math games and practice typing. Tablets also give the students another mode of learning. This allows the students to apply what they are learning in many different ways. these skills will become essential as the students grow as learners. Many of my students have some sort of tablet or touch screen device at home which makes it their preferred technology. Many students think all screens are touch screens and are confused with using a keyboard and mouse. I would like to bring tablets into my classroom to help bridge the technology gap between home and school so that they can learn in a way that's most comfortable to them.
