I would like to offer all sorts of "seating" choices in my classroom. I would like a table where children can sit at stability balls. I would like a table where children can sit on Kore Wobble stools. These stools move with children's own movement allowing them to stay supported and comfortable while they sit. I am lowering a table so children can sit on mats on the floor. I am raising a table so if my students prefer to stand, they will have that opportunity as well. The students will be able to explore what works best for them in a safe and caring environment. With flexible seating, my students will be able to collaborate better with their peers. They will be able to make choices about their seating and learn what works best for them. By having these choices and learning about themselves as a student, my students will be better prepared and will be able to take ownership of their learning.
