My students thrive on using assistive technology for communication and accessing the general curriculum. They are unable to communicate verbally and require modifications throughout the classroom. They are excited to engage in math and reading interactive websites. They are, however, unable to navigate tools on a typical computer. The mouse and keyboard are difficult for them to use with fidelity. The Fire tablets will be used for students to navigate through reading and math interactive websites through touch. Students will be able to engage in interactive websites that will build skills with numbers, letters, and basic number sense. The tablets will give them access to the websites typical students are interacting with on a daily basis. No mouse, no problem...tablets will do the trick!
