Orff instruments are used almost daily in my music classroom. The instruments that I have selected to replace our aging collection will be used by all students in my school as we learn to read music and use proper playing technique. While I am thrilled that we have gotten so much use out of my current collection, these decades-old instruments have fulfilled their original life expectancy, despite makeshift repairs attempted by several music teachers over the years. Every student will get a chance to experience each new xylophone, metallophone, and glockenspiel multiple times during our lessons in music class. Placing an instrument in a student's hands helps them make much more secure connections to the material being taught. This means that students can experience higher musical retention and have the time of their lives at the same time! By donating to our project, you can provide our students with another tool in their toolbox for becoming musically literate! They will leave elementary school prepared to successfully enter a middle school band or choir program with strong reading skills.
