My project is requesting a class set of the novel Holes by Louis Sachar. This was one of my favorite books as a child. We will use this book in a Daily 5 novel study where students complete rotations developing vocabulary, comprehension, pulling text evidence, text to text/world/self connections, plot development, character development as well as making predictions and inferences. "Daily 5 rotations are my favorite thing about 5th grade. I love that we get to do something different everyday!" These materials will make my students not only read because they have to, but enjoy reading because they have amazing books!
