I have been teaching in a special education, self-contained setting for the past 12 years. Throughout that time I have remained in the same setting but have taught various grade levels. Students enter my class with various disabilities, such as learning difficulties, speech and language impairments, fine and gross motor delays, and some students that are on the Austism spectrum. Despite changes in grade levels and student abilities, the constant component that helped me reach my goals each year has been providing my students engaging, hands-on activities that leaves them feeling confident and eager to learn more.
