The Wobble Seats and the NEOROK Stools purchased by this grant will join the T-Stools, and Yoga Ball seating to finish a classroom set of alternative seating options for my third or fourth graders. Students will be able to choose the kind of seating that will help them to focus and that will allow for the movement that they need. Research has shown that movement is developmentally appropriate for children to promote their focus and the intensity of their learning. Let's face it-children want to wiggle! It is normal and it is healthy. Yet traditional school seating does not allow for those wiggle-worms to get out. Flexible seating will not only allow for this, but it also improves balance and will exercise students' core muscles. In addition, these seating options will address the specialized needs of my high poverty student population.
