The use of technology in the classroom is known to be useful but what happens when you give students that technology for reading. Being able to provide some of my students with a tablet for reading will help them improve their language and reading skills. They can improve many skills like phonemic awareness, letter recognition, word recognition, decoding as well as language skills. The tablets can help them learn at their level and pace, therefore, scaffolding their learning. Every child can learn if given the right time and appropriate assistance needed. The tablets will be a way to support them to have better small group instruction. It is like having a personal teacher to guide you through. Students can be engaged and learning whether they are visual, auditory or kinesthetic learners. All learning styles can be met using technology!
