I am a first-year teacher committed to providing quality literature for learners. Most of these kids need to know they are loved and safe before they can begin learning things like math and reading. These books will help me show my learners how to self regulate their emotions and notice their friends emotions. I think having quality literature will help my learners relate to how they are feeling and understand what their emotions mean. Self-regulation is a key part of having a successful learning environment. This is something some adults cant do so why not start teaching them young? I am so excited to set these learners up for success not only academically but socially and emotionally.
