Students in my classroom have various conditions and disabilities that make them special. Issues like ADHD, Autism, and other sensory issues make it difficult for them to focus and complete tasks that require their undivided attention. These students will benefit from wearing the noise canceling earmuffs. They will help them to better focus when distracted by background noise in their environment. They will not only be able to wear them in my special education classroom, but also in general education classrooms and assemblies throughout the year. The students have been sharing a few pairs throughout this past year, and I have noticed how the earmuffs have helped them throughout their school day. We have been limiting the number of students who are able to use them because we did not have a sufficient number of the noise canceling earmuffs. With this purchase, students who request them will be able to use them and I know they will greatly benefit from them. The noise canceling earmuffs help them focus and complete tasks more accurately. Also, several students have requested them during assemblies where the whole school attends. Music and sounds can be too loud for them to enjoy and or even attend. The earmuffs help them relax and enjoy the assembly! I know this donation project will greatly help each student that I currently work with and they will be used for many years to come.
