Our children have taken an interest in ice cream and how it is made. There is a small ice cream shop in town that the children pass every day, which has sparked their interest into how ice cream is made. With the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker, the students will be able to create their own ice cream in our classroom. We also want to be able to turn our dramatic play area into their very own ice cream shop and we will be able to do that with the Melissa and Doug toys such as the Scoop and Stack, the Sweet Toppings, and the Scoop and Serve Ice Cream Counter. With the books, such as Milk to Ice Cream, From Cow to Ice Cream and the Ben and Jerry's Homemade Ice Cream, the children will learn the ice cream making process and pick out some ice cream recipes to try.
