Keeping up with the current discoveries and ideas in science is very important. To be able to do this I would like to subscribe to multiple magazines and read books that are the basis for current research. All of this information will then be passed on to my students. I can use this information to develop new lessons and share what is the latest and greatest in not only marine science but all aspects of science. My main goal is to get students excited about science and to start thinking about what role they may play in the future. The books and magazines I have selected can be modified for my student's reading levels. Middle school students are not quite ready to ready professional journal articles. These magazines discuss current research in ways that are easy to understand.
