The books which I have chosen coordinate with our new reading curriculum. These books will enhance my students' reading choices which will allow them to be more engaged in a rich environment of printed material. My classroom library is sparse at best and these books will enable my kids to thrive! As an avid reader myself, I can ensure each book will be handled with care and enjoyed for many years to come. The old adage "practice makes perfect" is certainly true when it comes to reading. My students will be able to choose books that interest them which encourages reading. The more they read the more proficient readers they will become. All first grade students come to school with the desire to learn to read. These books will help enrich their experiences with the printed word while giving them the opportunity to become life-long readers.
