Many of my students come to school hungry. Not having regular access to food is an impediment to learning and enjoying the process of education. It is shocking how many hungry tummies are sitting in my classroom each day. As an experiment, I provided breakfast and snacks to my students last year to see if concentration and learning improved. I have been amazed at the results. My students were so grateful to have food available to them. It is lovely, having gratitude in our daily lives. My little 7th graders were so full of gratitude for having full bellies. They worked so hard for me and did so well in response. I am so very proud of my students.
