I believe it's important for students to choose how and where to engage in their work. Some students like to work standing up, while others prefer to spread out on the floor and others change day to day. As these kiddos grow older and build stamina, they are experiencing independent and collaborative work for a longer period of time. Since we will be in the same classroom next year, I would love to provide the opportunity to mix things up a little in a positive, comfortable way for the ultimate success and growth for these wonderful little people I get to work with each day. My hope is that students will be more engaged and motivated about learning and coming to school each day. They will be able to choose comfortable floor spots, wobble stools, exercise balls, reading pillows, and lap desks.
