My students come from a variety of backgrounds and are as diverse as the stars, and they shine just as bright, if not brighter. We live in the southwest, but many students have come from other areas of the county and the world. Some have relocated with the Air Force, some have come from colder climates and are new to the desert, and others have come across the ocean. We are a mix of cultures. Not only are our ethnicities diverse, we also have a multitude of talents; before me I have future scientists, engineers, artists, business leaders, service workers, neighbors and friends. In our community of learners we support one another with our strengths, encourage taking risks, and lift each other up. Our classroom focuses building community and being a productive member not only within our classroom, but to the larger whole as well.
