As the seasons change, we are often indoors for recess. It can be a real bummer! We want to change indoor recess into a time of movement, music, fitness, and fun. Our classroom will be hosting fitness classes during indoor recess to those that interested in mixing it up and getting fit in the process. Outside of the classroom, I am a fitness instructor at a local gym and would love to transfer my love of fitness to my students. With some basic equipment, I will offer a variety of fitness classes to our fifth grade students. With this equipment I will be able to host a basic 'muscle class', a basic boot camp class, candle-lit yoga, chair weights, resistance band/weight cardio workout, etc.. My students will assist me in designing fun playlists and will be able to contribute ideas towards building their own personal fitness. This activity will not only strengthen their muscles, but it will also strengthen relationships within our classroom walls.
