I am requesting a sensory canoe to assist students with appropriately processing their sensory environment. We are developing a sensory room that will provide a calming and safe place for our students to regulate their sensory systems. This will allow for increased concentration in the classroom and improvement in motor planning, socialization, and communication. Our goal with the sensory canoe is to help drain off excess sensory input. This is beneficial to students with a variety of needs including Autism, ADHA, ODD, and sensory processing disorder. Students who do not have these diagnoses also benefit as all student enjoy a fun, welcoming environment.

About my class
