Help me to transform my classroom into an environment that feels safe and conducive to learning for students with Emotional Disturbance! These seating, sensory, and fidget items help provide our students with a way to meat their emotional needs. By having flexible seating options we are allowing students to choose where and how they would like to sit and work, and thus providing our students with the opportunity to take charge of their learning. When students are able to make choices in their learning, they are going to be more engaged and less disruptive to their peers. Fidgets and sensory items allow appropriate outlets for our students to utilize in their self-regulation of calm-down techniques. These materials will be used as fidgets for hyperactive students to focus during learning times, but also will be used to assist students in calming down when they begin to have feelings of anger or aggression.
