I work in a low-income/high poverty area and the students in my class our faced with many challenges outside of school. Many of the students and their families live around violence on a daily basis. While they are in school my assistant teacher and I strive to provide a safe and nurturing environment for them to learn in. In our classroom we provide the children with the opportunity to activate their senses through educational and social experiences designed to provide them with the learning skills they will need for a strong transition into Kindergarten. Our families are unable to provide help with the items and materials we need in the classroom to create a fun learning environment for our children. Our children are our future and we thank you for your support in helping them along their educational journey.
