The materials that have been selected are fun and engaging when teaching in the preschool classroom. These are totally hands-on and gives the scholars ownership of their learning. The major focus in utilizing math manipulative and unique items is to stimulate and enhance learning centers in the classroom. In our classroom, there is a major emphasis on learning through play and gaining information through exploration/discovery. The scholars often ask for play dough!! So I try often to create or purchase new items that will continue their desire to learn through play and science. Every Friday we have Science and Technology Day and the look of excitement when an experiment is about to take place and through the process, to the very end, is simply priceless. So I cannot wait to use the play dough and the Number Match with keys to unlock new discoveries and save the new memories in our room!
