Books are the best way to expand a student's knowledge and unlock their potential. I teach in a fifth grade class to many students that have unique needs and challenges. Many of my students are learning English and need interesting books to grab their attention and encourage them to read more. We use a small group reading program that does not supply enough reading materials at various levels for all of my students. The books that I have selected for my students, like Fly Guy Sharks, are ones that my students chose themselves and said they would be interested in reading and learning more about. Children deserve to feel successful when they read and providing books at their independent reading levels is one way to do this.
