Though our students are provided with multiple opportunities to share their learning, we are looking to provide a more collaborative experience for students to assess one another. iPads give the opportunity to utilize FlipGrid as a curriculum enhancing resource for assessment. The iPads, would give students more access to this program. A significant benefit to each student in the class working on his/her own FlipGrid is the option to share his/her own ideas and learning. This also provides teachers with an opportunity to assess an entire class of students at the same time. With these iPads, we will have increased flexibility for usage when they are needed. Beyond FlipGrid, having a set of iPads in the classroom offers a variety of learning tools. With an iPad at their fingertips, the students will have a whole digital world opened up for them. For above-level math students, teachers can differentiate the content being delivered to them through various math game applications. In math, giving a child with autism who has sensory issues manipulatives to manage may be too over-stimulating. However, when they are able to use manipulatives on an application they are still getting the benefits of the manipulatives without the over-stimulation. I am especially eager to introduce struggling, at-risk, and students with learning disabilities to apps and games that make learning fun and exciting again. For a low-level reader, looking at the same set of books can be monotonous. Give them a digital bookshelf where hundreds of books will be available, and their interest will be piqued. Likewise, students learn language best through exposure. I believe the students' language skills will become stronger through increased experiences with books and word games on the iPads.
