Expecting an 8th grade to sit in a chair for 6 hours a day is unrealistic! Students need to get out of their chairs to stretch and refocus. Creating an environment where children can explore and experiment with the learning strategies will allow them to figure out what works best for them. Standing desks will help students with attention disabilities concentrate on their learning! Being able to stand will allow them the movement breaks they need to stay focused. These standing desks will be available to students who need to fidget while they work. Standing can help energize students to actively participate in class on those early Monday mornings!
