Students will be learning how biological systems interact and compete with each other to survive. From biotic/abiotic factors to the effects of fertilizer runoff, a flower bed provides all the hands-on learning they need to cover these units. We need a yard cart, garden tools, mulch and other materials to create a flower bed. Students will be using the gardening supplies to create a flower bed that can sustain life and look appealing to our school. The school will be voting on the flower bed proposals to choose one to plant. The winning proposal will be used as the plan for a flower bed where our flag pole stands. Knowing that their project could be used to decorate our school has really engaged the students.
