Future Journalists of America are ready to take on the tasks! I am a 5th grade bilingual teacher that works closely with 20 students, but this project will not be limited to them, as it will also open doors for the rest of the 70 students in the 5th grade level. These students have been identified as low socio-economic status, at risk of future failure or high school drop outs and a minority group with a high percent of them being Hispanic. With this said, I must state that I work at a Title I Bilingual school, this means that 80% of our student population is of low socioeconomic status and we have a 75% or more of LEP (limited english students) that are currently enrolled.
