The students who are enrolled in my math class perform below grade level, specifically in math. This means that math life skills are more beneficial than learning how to solve algebraic expressions! Through the use of games, students work on those skills while playing which seems less like "learning" and more like "fun" for them. Independent activities provide the same type of learning just independently. Research has also showed that students learn better when moving, so I will provide alternative seating to students to assist in that learning. With the diverse group of learners, they need to move during class! The little amount of movements allowed with wobble stools and ball chairs provides students simple movement that is non disruptive while fulfilling their own sensory need(s) along with being able to remain focused. Various stool heights also provide the different modes of being comfortable instead of being at a desk.
