Flip chart paper, calculators, pencil sharpener, pencils, notebooks- these materials are the basic necessities for interactive notebooks. The interactive notebooks will help engage students in their learning and give them a place to reflect on their learning as well. The calculators will help students be able to solve more complex problems when trying to find things like acceleration, force, or converting things into metric. Many students do not have basic materials, like notebooks or pencils; having access to these materials will help them find the wonder in science, by not worrying about having the materials. Force and motion is such a fascinating topic and hands-on unit, and I want them to have the basic materials so they can see this.
