Many of my students face struggles I can't change: poverty, mental illness, abuse, hunger, and many more. Sadly, a lot of these students also struggle to read at grade level. I want to do everything I can to see them succeed. Studies have shown that alternative seating improves performance, comprehension, and retainment of material. I want to provide this opportunity to all of my students via bean bag chairs for reading. This will allow more of my students to enjoy favorites such as Fahrenheit 451, To Kill a Mockingbird, Lord of the Flies, Things Fall Apart, The Lovely Bones, and many more.

About my class
