My students take pride in what they do. This can be difficult when the materials don't hold up to the standard for which they are aiming. I have seen my students grow frustrated when the instruments they play on do not respond the way they should. Imagine learning to ride a bike with a flat tire. While possible you would put in a lot of effot that would not be rewarded. It is my hope that by supplying them with much needed upgrades the students will further feel this strong pride in their performances. The new bass drum will be the heart of many of our band pieces. My students often see schools around us with the best materials. I want them to have that pride in what they play on everyday.
