Musical theater encourages engagement and learning and has a positive impact on emotional, physical and social development. Kids who participate in theater programs enjoy the many benefits it offers and will take those skills throughout their lives, making them more creative, confident and productive individuals. My passion is bringing the musical theater experience to the students at my school. My students have been working for months on the production of Aladdin Jr., which they will be performing in May. I am requesting stage makeup, pretend sword props, costume racks, and concession stand items (including a popcorn machine and cotton candy bowl). All proceeds from our concession stand will help us to purchase additional lighting and sound equipment for next year's production. Makeup is needed so that the students do not look washed out on stage. Costume racks are needed so that our room can be organized into a functional space. This will make it much easier for my students to go through quick costume changes throughout the show. We have an extremely limited budget. These items will be hugely beneficial to my students and our production!
