My classroom has two, sometimes working, computers that must be shared among an entire classroom. Therefore, additional Chromebooks would provide an opportunity for students to interact with technology on a daily basis. Most of my students do not have access to a computer at home, therefore, school is their only opportunity to interact with technology. Chromebooks will be used during independent work time. Groups of 5 students at a time will utilize technology to practice their reading and math skills (via online reading and math programs), conduct research for projects, write up essays, and even begin to learn how to code. My students need to have regular access and experience with different digital platforms. Providing regular access to technology will prepare my students for high tech careers in the future.
