One area that we always seem to struggle with is counting money. One of the main reasons is because many of our assignments deal with money drawn on paper. I have found that it is so much more beneficial for students to learn this necessary life skill with hands-on manipulatives. The use of manipulatives helps students hone their mathematical thinking skills. With these supplies, it will make the hands on learning much easier. We will use the lure boxes to separate our change. This way my students can find each coin they need more easily. We are also learning to count bills, however I do not have the bill manipulatives for us to do so. The game can be used for extra practice and to make learning fun! These skills are much needed in order to be successful in their future learning.
