Reflection and listening are vital parts to any comprehensive music program. Not only must our students be listening constantly and adjusting for balance, blend, and intonation, but we should have access to our recordings from a historical legacy standpoint for our successful music programs. Currently, we have no way to create high-quality recordings of our high-quality performances. Although we are fortunate enough to have a beautiful performance space, our students deserve the opportunity to learn from listening to our great performances. These microphones, along with the tall light stand and spacers, will give us professional-level recordings without our having to hire a sound engineer. Students will have unprecedented access to what our ensembles sound like from the outside. These materials will be shared among our full music department, which currently serves over a third of our full school population!
