My students live in a rural community surrounded by two rivers at the edge of the Chesapeake Bay. Generations of their families have been watermen, earning a living from catching shellfish and crabs. Some of these families are still living without electricity, and others have experienced transient periods where they have been homeless. Despite these challenges, our students are eager to grasp opportunities presented to them. The administration, the teachers, and the counselors at Middlesex High School all try our best to support the entire school community.

About my class
