Having these iPads would tremendously shift the students’ perspective on their learning. It would help transfer my classroom into a fully interactive, more engaging and immersive environment. I currently use my personal iPad for instruction on a daily basis and the students thoroughly enjoy receiving instruction because of my use of educational apps, my ability to be mobile in the classroom, and they just love technology in general. My students are creative, inspiring, and their love for learning creates an excitement throughout the school. If the students had iPad devices of their own, it would allow me to be more versatile in my instruction as well as increase our connectivity in the classroom. I would be able to quickly disperse and collect assignments, notes, interactive activities, and more in seconds. I would be able to give those students that are struggling with concepts some intervention through resources that they can touch and manipulate with their hands. I could offer those students that are already excelling some enrichment resources as well. As an educator, I constantly search for things that would enhance the learning experience. The iPad would be one of the most impactful manipulatives that my class would have to offer.
